There’s a reason I usually do this earlier in the week – I know we
did a good four-part round, but I can’t remember which one.
Schedule
We will be having dropin meetings as usual on Tuesdays (including
today, August 21) at 7:45pm at
my place
.
Other Events
The Wakefield Summer Band, Laura Conrad on tuba, will play its final
concert of the summer on Friday, August 24, at 6:30pm on the Wakefield
Common. Come watch the sun set over Lake Quannapowitt and afterwards
join us in the First Church Vestry for light refreshments.
Other playing opportunities
The Boston Recorder Society
is organizing its Fall meetings. They are
thinking about some more interesting ideas than they’ve been doing for
the last couple of years, such as a loud wind group, a baroque group,
and a large recorders group. They don’t yet have it together enough
to have put the information about their ideas on their website, but if
you’d like to know about them and aren’t on the BRS mailing list, email
me and I’ll send you the newsletter I got. Or email their contact
information and ask to be on the mailing list.
Parking
It’s gotten very difficult for residents on my block, but all the new
signs are effective only between 7am and 5pm, so it may actually be
easier for people who just come for the evening. In any case, Windsor
St., Market St., and Clark St. all have empty spaces most of the time,
and you can use the bus stop as a loading zone if you have more stuff
than you want to carry for a block or more.
