Playing Opportunities
Two of the organizations that support amateur playing and
singing in the Boston area are starting their 2018-2019 seasons
this Sunday (September 16):
- The West
Gallery Quire will be meeting at 2pm at Newton Highlands Congregational
Church. In addition to being friendly to all melody
instruments, it’s also the best place around here to get the
experience of singing with a serpent. - The Boston
Recorder Society will be meeting at 6:30pm at Lesley
University. They welcome recorders, early flutes and
strings in their regular groups, and have been hosting a very
good early loud winds group. If you haven’t been before, your
first meeting is free.
Concert Announcement
In Stile Moderno
will be playing on Saturday, September 22, at 7:30 pm, at the
Cambridge Friends Meeting House, 3 Longfellow Park in Cambridge.
The program will focus on early 17th century music of voice,
cornetto and strings.
